Overview:
A senior business analyst’s role will involve taking on a more strategic and leadership-oriented position
within the business analysis field, which includes strategic analysis, requirements analysis, and
business process and innovation. The candidate will also be required to supervise junior and graduate
Business Analysts as part of their core responsibilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Analysis: Contribute to strategic planning by aligning business
objectives with technology solutions. Analyse business processes, industry trends, and market
conditions to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. Provide insights and
recommendations to senior management to shape the organization’s long-term business
strategy. - Requirements Management and Analysis: Lead and oversee complex and high-impact
projects, taking responsibility for the entire requirements management lifecycle. Collaborate
with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements, ensuring they are
aligned with strategic goals. Analyse and translate requirements into functional specifications,
providing clarity, feasibility, and traceability. - Stakeholder Management and Relationship Building: Manage relationships with key
stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and senior managers, and act as
trusted advisors, understanding their needs, addressing concerns, and influencing decisionmaking processes. They facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to
ensure project success. - Business Process Improvement and Innovation: Identify and evaluate opportunities for
process improvement, efficiency gains, and innovation within the organization. Employ
various analysis techniques to assess current business processes, identify bottlenecks or gaps,
and propose optimized solutions that enhance operational effectiveness, reduce costs, or
drive revenue growth. - Solution Evaluation and Vendor Management: Evaluate technology solutions, including
software applications or vendor products. Assess the suitability of potential solutions against
business requirements, conduct gap analyses, make recommendations for solution selection
or customization, collaborate with vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure successful
solution implementation. - Change Management and Adoption: Lead change management initiatives by assessing the
impact of proposed changes on business processes, systems, and stakeholders. Develop
change management strategies, communication plans, and training materials to ensure
smooth transitions. Engage with stakeholders, address resistance, and drive the adoption of
new solutions or processes. - Leadership and Mentoring: Lead and mentor a team of business analysts, guiding their
professional development and providing guidance on complex projects. Share knowledge,
best practices, and industry trends, fostering a culture of continuous learning within the
business analysis function and also providing coaching and support to junior analysts, helping
them refine their skills and grow in their careers. - Project Management Support: Provide project management support, collaborating closely
with project managers to ensure project success. Contribute to project planning, estimation,
and risk management activities. Oversee the work of other business analysts, ensuring
deliverables are on track and of high quality. - Documentation and Reporting: Responsible for producing high-quality documentation and
reports, including business requirements documents, functional specifications, process maps,
and project status updates. Ensure that documentation is comprehensive, accurate, and
accessible to stakeholders and project teams. - Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Actively seek opportunities to improve business
analysis practices, methodologies, and tools. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging
technologies, and best practices, exploring innovative approaches to drive efficiency and
effectiveness in requirements management and business analysis activities.

Qualification and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, information systems, or a
related discipline is essential. - The required experience is 6+ years and in-depth knowledge and understanding of business
analysis principles, techniques, and best practices are essential. - An IIBA certification or related qualification is required. An honours degree is advantageous.
The candidate must have solid practical BA experience, experience in managing multiple IT
Projects, and exposure to conducting business analysis in complex projects. - Candidate should possess a strong foundation in requirements management, process analysis,
and solution evaluation. In addition, the candidate must also have strong analytical and
problem-solving skills to effectively analyse complex business problems, identify root causes,
and develop innovative solutions.
